The Power of Effortless

We have all tasted the contrasting experiences of life :  firstly where life feels like a real struggle and it’s polar opposite where it feels easy , almost effortless. When it’s a struggle it seems like we have to give everything we have just to keep our head above water. On the other hand when life is flowing effortlessly, it seems like nothing is required from us - it just happens.

Our society is “rigged” towards effort. We frown on laziness and revere those who have risen to the top through the sweat of their own relentless toils. Work harder equals more success is a prevailing paradigm. Do whatever you need to do to become more successful,  where success mainly means having more material stuff. Unfortunately, the costs of this focus on material success are all too evident. Mental illness and depression is commonplace, loneliness and feelings of alienation are endemic, and even those who have “made it” are often deeply unhappy. Somehow we treat this as normal. We extol the virtues of our modern lives even as we watch them disintegrate.

Is life really meant to be a perpetual struggle?

Is there a viable alternative?

There certainly is, with a growing people band of people leading this movement. It means having the courage to be yourself and to truly live in accordance with your own values, rather than simply jumping on the societal bandwagon. Instead of doing what everyone else thinks you should be doing, you listen to your heart’s deepest desires and follow your own internal promptings. It doesn’t mean being reckless or careless; it means  simply living a life that matters to you.

All good in principle, but what does “being yourself” mean? How do you do that?

Here is the first clue : it’s about “being yourself” not “doing yourself”. You don’t need anything extra to be your natural self. It’s more about “letting go” than it is about becoming something better.

Letting go of caring about what other people think of you.

Letting go of imagined limitations.

Letting go of feeling negative about yourself.

Letting go of the need to conform or fit in.

Letting go of trying to please your parents or other key people in your life.

Letting go of…

The truth is we don’t know exactly what we need to let go of. It reveals itself as we take that journey. And it’s never quite what you expect - one thing leads to another. When you start to move in that direction, you will find that you are slowly stepping out of the struggle that most people are completely invested in.

Step by step life starts to flow, and ease replaces dis-ease. There are challenges to be sure but these act as tools to help you let go more deeply, more profoundly. You might need to try new things and delve into areas you have previously shunned. Meditation is a great tool for learning to let go and experiencing the “natural self”. Meditations that are completely effortless, such as Vibrant Celestial Meditation, enable you to rapidly let go of anything that may be holding you back.

Life doesn’t need to be a struggle. If you move in the direction you love and simply be who you were born to be, you will find that more and more, you are living an “effortless” life.

Inspiration

Inspiration.

When it’s there its easy. You have it. It’s free.

You write it, or voice it, or paint it, or observe it, or do with it as you please. Maybe you feel like you own it. You may or may not cherish it.

The next day it’s gone.

You reach for more. Nothing comes. You try harder, but where is that effortless flow from yesterday? Today it’s a struggle.

The rhythms of inspiration. Confounding many a creative soul. Torturing more than a few.

Do you choose inspiration or does it choose you?

What is the nature of inspiration?

Inspiration has a million flavours but one original Source.

As that inspiration moves in time and space as a vibration it encounters endless expressions of consciousness. Each of these encounters leads to a refraction of the inspiration, creating a new flavour. The flavour is of the Source, but not the full expression of the Source. These new flavours also manifest as vibrations — some strong, some weak.

When we are inspired most often it is one or a combination of these derived flavours that we are tuning into. For some people this is more localized inspiration emanating from their culture, personal upbringing and the media to which they are exposed. For others it is more mystical and spiritual in nature.

Rare grace-filled Souls are open to inspiration in its near pure form. Their own consciousness is elevated and resonates in harmony with the Source. They have no interest in anything less.

Most people don’t care about such things. The material world is their master by default.

If you aspire to “higher expression” then cultivate higher consciousness. Pray, meditate or follow what inspires you. As you nurture your own consciousness you will find that inspiration is more available and less elusive. More importantly, the quality of that inspiration will touch, transform and heal you.

Pure inspiration is ever present. It’s available to you now. Invite it in. Settle for no less.

Grace: The Gift Within

Inder S. Rattan, CanadaVCM posts

In many spiritual scriptures, writings and discussions the subject of “Grace” comes up.

What exactly is Grace?

It is generally implied during these discussions that nothing is possible or good results are not possible without the Gift of Grace. When it is said “by the Grace of God it will be done” there is an implication that when the Gift of Grace manifests, from within all our external affairs are smoother and better.

Grace is a Gift of the all-pervading life force sweeping in and reminding you that you are not alone and that there is divinity within you that is all giving. In a true and ultimate spiritual sense Grace is a gift that begins the awakening of your spirit. Once this gift is received, an awareness and feeling of inseparable existence with the all-pervading life force within is cultivated. That indeed is an unbelievable knowledge and strength within, and will bring an “ascendancy of spirit” that will overcome all life’s obstacles and lead to a blissful existence.

Love

The “feeling of being unloved” lies at the heart of many issues and can cast a long shadow over one’s well-being. What we lack internally, we chase externally. But this pursuit produces only short term satisfaction and wears us down in the end. The most obvious way to remedy a “lack of love” is to seek it from others: if only that person will love me then I will feel better. The problem with this, is that you will only feel loved when things are going well in that relationship. Deep down the feeling of being unloved persists and ultimately the relationship will come to reflect your own internal feelings. No one or no thing can truly compensate for the deepest feelings you harbour inside.

You need to “learn to love yourself” is common advice. If you don’t love yourself how can you truly love another person or even be open to their love. This is true, but for most people this is an abstract concept. What does loving yourself even mean? And more to the point - how do you actually do it?

The first thing to understand is that “true love” is already within you. This is the profound Unconditional Love that is the very fabric of the Universe. God is Love and Love is God. Whilst our focus is often on seeking interpersonal love, it is really only this deeper unconditional love that can satiate the deeper yearnings of our Soul. When you are in tune with this Divine Love, everything feels right, no matter how circumstances may appear on the outside. This is when you experience true peace of mind.

The good news is that there is nowhere to go and nothing to do in order to start aligning yourself with this Love. You already have it within you. It is in no way separate from you and it is your birthright to experience it. When you realize you already have all the love you will ever need within you, it is easier to experience it more. Ask for the love you desire to manifest in every aspect of your life. Allow it to shape your reality in it's own image. Let it flood your consciousness and purge unneeded emotions or heartache.

Pray for it, meditate on it, celebrate it and you will find you feel it and see it more and more. As you do, so you will love yourself and everyone else more deeply and unconditionally. You will be love and feel truly loved.

Non-Judgmental Attitude and Your White Light

Simran K. Rattan, CanadaVCM posts

The ability to connect to the life force within allows for it to radiate and innately emanate a vibrational energy that can create calmness and an attitude of non-judgment and non-attachment. Connection to this All-Pervading Universal Creative Life Force is one way to stay centred in the hustle and bustle of life, and prevents us from slipping into judgmental interactions, thoughts and ideas that occur by interaction with others in the world.

Judgment is how we discern things. It is useful to make choices and useful to lead us to a path of spiritual awakening. A person who has a connection with the universal creative life force is able to discern and use judgment with a non-judging attitude. They have the innate ability to observe the world with an impartial and non-attached view especially in times when it is most needed. They do not label or categorize their ideas of creation and interactions with others as being good or bad, right or wrong, fair or unfair. They accept the feelings and thoughts they have as is and embrace the sensations they may be feeling as part of their daily being.

Understand that Judgment is beneficial when used with a non-judgmental attitude. It requires a deeper understanding of the connection with one’s innermost self and the areas that keep oneself from connecting to their true self, this universal life force within.

To fully appreciate the whole spectrum of one’s nature, let us look at white light. White Light is made of a spectrum of colours; instead of looking for the different colours within your beam of white light, observe yourself as the white light, which is the whole spectrum of rainbow colours. Embrace your sensations, thoughts, ideas, and habits as this white light and do not dissect the rainbow within this white light into parts, as you are whole, creating a non-judgmental attitude towards yourself. Once you see yourself as white light, you will begin to see the beauty in the spectrum of colour of which your white light is made.
