Genius is something we normally ascribe to rare individuals - great people who have stood out in their disciplines, whether it be science, commerce, arts, etc. Einstein, Mozart, Leonardo Da Vinci and Steve Jobs are a few examples. We typically think of genius as belonging to these people. We imagine their genius as starting and ending with them, meaning we think of them as the source of the genius they expressed.
In the same way, we imagine that our own level of intelligence is what it is. We are born this way and our observation of our self and others is that this intelligence does not change much over time - it seems to be personal and fixed.
This paradigm of personal and fixed intelligence is extremely limiting.
There is an alternative model of intelligence that is much more empowering and liberating. It also offers the exciting possibility that no matter what your current circumstances in life, there is an opportunity for you to connect with and express your own unique flavour of genius - whatever that may be.
This model is based on the spiritual principle that an unlimited Universal Intelligence is omnipresent, meaning it is everywhere at all times, including within us. It is this same great power and intelligence that is the ingenious force behind all creation. It is limitless.
If we could find a way to “tap” this Universal Intelligence that lies within, we would then have access to an unlimited flow of genius that could express itself naturally through us. Whatever talents we possess would be unleashed and we would be surprised at some of the revelations and insights we experience. Old self-imposed limitations would fall by the wayside.
This raises the obvious question - how do we connect with Universal Intelligence?
The answer - surprising to many - is simply to Surrender to it.
You won’t reach it through unrelenting discipline or toil.
You won’t find it by performing tricks of the mind.
You won’t attain it through spiritual rituals.
You subjugate yourself to it and as you do so, you become it. That is to say the separation that you currently perceive between yourself and Universal Intelligence starts to fall away, and step-by-step you find that you become more and more aware of it's presence within you and you naturally begin expressing it in all areas of your life.
This is Universal Genius in action. You already are a Genius, awaiting that realization.
