Inspiration.
When it’s there its easy. You have it. It’s free.
You write it, or voice it, or paint it, or observe it, or do with it as you please. Maybe you feel like you own it. You may or may not cherish it.
The next day it’s gone.
You reach for more. Nothing comes. You try harder, but where is that effortless flow from yesterday? Today it’s a struggle.
The rhythms of inspiration. Confounding many a creative soul. Torturing more than a few.
Do you choose inspiration or does it choose you?
What is the nature of inspiration?
Inspiration has a million flavours but one original Source.
As that inspiration moves in time and space as a vibration it encounters endless expressions of consciousness. Each of these encounters leads to a refraction of the inspiration, creating a new flavour. The flavour is of the Source, but not the full expression of the Source. These new flavours also manifest as vibrations — some strong, some weak.
When we are inspired most often it is one or a combination of these derived flavours that we are tuning into. For some people this is more localized inspiration emanating from their culture, personal upbringing and the media to which they are exposed. For others it is more mystical and spiritual in nature.
Rare grace-filled Souls are open to inspiration in its near pure form. Their own consciousness is elevated and resonates in harmony with the Source. They have no interest in anything less.
Most people don’t care about such things. The material world is their master by default.
If you aspire to “higher expression” then cultivate higher consciousness. Pray, meditate or follow what inspires you. As you nurture your own consciousness you will find that inspiration is more available and less elusive. More importantly, the quality of that inspiration will touch, transform and heal you.
Pure inspiration is ever present. It’s available to you now. Invite it in. Settle for no less.
